How to Relax in the Bahamas
The Islands in the Bahamas are a great place to
relax, but with so much to do and see you may need help
learning how to relax at Atlantis Resort on Paradise
Island.
When you get up in the morning, get up fairly
early and head down to Atlantis beach which is on the
east - northeast side of Paradise Island. Get there early
enough to see the sun come up - this will vary, of
course, depending on the time of year. It’s unlikely
anyone will be there except maybe a fisherman and
possibly the worker on the Caterpillar beach comber that
does kind of annoy you with the noise it
makes.
Here you can look for shells, wade in the surf
or just sit and enjoy the sunrise. Relax while watching
the various birds gather on the beach and then run from
the waves! When more people start to show up, it is time
to leave for breakfast!
If you got up a little too early, pick a time in
late morning or mid afternoon for a little nap. Your room
will suffice for the relaxation, but why not go for a
lounge chair by a pool or on the beach instead? If you
choose outside for that nap, mind your sunscreen! The
Caribbean sun will burn you much quicker than a more
northern exposure. The lounge chairs at the beach that
have a sun cover go quickly so get there early for one of
those if you want it.
Everything slows down in the heat of the
afternoon, again depending on the time of year. If you
are not napping, how about relaxing dip in one of the
many pools to cool
off?
After dinner, or early evening if you prefer
later dinners, stroll down to the Marina Village but go
by way of the marina itself. Wander up and down the docks
and drink in the ambiance of multimillion dollar yachts,
complete with small boats, jet skis and, once in a while,
a helicopter! Many of the yachts have beautiful lighting
and are simply a joy to look at.
Marina Village is a pleasant strolling area
also. The Bimini Road restaurant has some pretty good
entertainment on their front porch for everyone in the
village to enjoy. You might find a seat or two on the
ledge to sit down, otherwise many will be standing to
watch and listen. If you do not mind waiting for up to an
hour in line, maybe some Haagen Dazs ice cream from the
Village Creamery will top off the evening
meal.
For a quieter evening stroll, head on over to
the Cove to enjoy the modernesque lighting illuminating
the lobby area. You can even take a late evening walk
along the paved path from Cove Beach past Atlantis Beach,
but you may want a flashlight with you since the whole
thing is not lighted.
It is hard to relax at a resort like Atlantis
when there is so much to see and do. Hopefully these
ideas will help you learn how to relax at Atlantis on
Paradise Island and enjoy the surrounding Caribbean
atmosphere.
